China and Pakistan are accelerating the construction of a closer community with a shared future in the new era.

Xi Jinping recalled that the two countries have an "ironclad friendship" and a partnership under all conditions.

CGTN – Chinese President Xi Jinping met on Wednesday afternoon (5) at the Great Hall of the People with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, who is on a state visit to China.

Xi Jinping recalled that the two countries have an "ironclad friendship" and a partnership under all conditions. In recent years, both sides have consolidated mutual political support, maintained close high-level communication, and deepened cooperation in building the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and other areas, setting an example for bilateral relations.   

China wants to work together with Pakistan to advance its own path of modernization, accelerate the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, further benefit both peoples, and make a greater contribution to the peace, stability, and prosperity of the region.

The Chinese leader stressed that China has always approached relations with Pakistan from a strategic perspective and maintains a high degree of stability and continuity in its friendly policy with its neighbor, focused on its people.

Both sides should deepen the synergy of development strategies and the exchange of governance experiences, strengthen communication across all departments and at all levels, in order to consolidate the political foundation of Sino-Pakistani relations.   

In turn, Asif Ali Zardari stated that Pakistan and China, besides being close neighbors, are good friends and partners under all conditions. Whatever the situation, Pakistan always stands by China without wavering. He added that his country wants to work together with China to uphold multilateralism and free trade, in order to promote the common interests of both countries and developing states.
