China wants greater exchanges with the United States, says Chinese media.

The letter expresses the desire of the North American city to foster a friendly relationship between the two countries through the promotion of non-governmental exchanges.

CMG – On Monday (11), the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Wenbin, commented on a letter sent jointly by Mayor London Breed and personalities from various sectors of the city of San Francisco, in the state of California, United States, to the Chinese president, Xi Jinping.

The letter expresses the American city's desire to foster a friendly relationship between the two countries through the promotion of non-governmental exchanges, revealing that San Francisco is willing to host a Chinese giant panda at its local zoo.

The Chinese diplomat stated that he is eager to see more exchanges between the peoples of the two countries and that the giant panda is considered an ambassador of friendship between them. China will continue working with the US to protect the animal in order to strengthen friendly ties and mutual understanding.
