Metropolises - Federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PSL-SP) sent an official letter to the Ministry of Health and the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) requesting that the immunization of children against Covid-19 be interrupted. The congresswoman alleges that "dozens of children are suffering adverse reactions" due to the incorrect application of the Pfizer vaccine intended for adults in children.
The federal congresswoman bases her request on the vaccination of nearly 50 children in the municipality of Lucena, Paraíba, with adult doses of Pfizer vaccine in December 2021. The state's Health Department is still investigating whether the doses were expired. So far, however, there is no record of any adverse reaction in the group of boys and girls who received the wrong dose.
