The governor of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel, will propose at the forum of state governors that his colleagues support a quarantine period for judges, police officers, and prosecutors before they run for political office.

247 - In statements published in Folha de S.Paulo this Monday (9), Rio governor Wilson Witzel defends the creation of barriers to shield the Judiciary, Public Prosecutor's Office and police from political-partisan activity. 

According to the journalist Monica BergamoThe idea gained traction in the Chamber of Deputies after Sergio Moro left the judiciary to become a minister in the Bolsonaro government and is now a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic. 

The proposal is that judges, prosecutors, public defenders, military and civil police officers can only run for public office six years after leaving their careers.
