Vice-president of Banco do Brasil dies after falling ill during meeting.

247 - The Vice President of Wholesale Business at Banco do Brasil, Walter Malieni, 50 years old, died this Friday (7) after falling ill during a meeting in São Paulo. He was taken to the hospital, but did not survive.

Malieni would have turned 51 in November and already had 35 years of experience at Banco do Brasil.

In a statement, the bank expressed its regret over the executive's death:

"With great sadness, Banco do Brasil announces the passing of the Vice President of Wholesale Business, Walter Malieni Junior, which occurred today in São Paulo." 

Walter dedicated a large part of his life to Banco do Brasil, where he started at age 15 as a junior apprentice. In his 35-year career, he worked in various areas of the company, eventually reaching the Board of Directors, where he served as vice-president in several departments and president of the company Brasilprev. 

His sudden departure is a cause of sadness for the Banco do Brasil family, where Walter was recognized for his enormous technical competence and for the always polite and attentive way he addressed everyone. 

To Walter's family and friends, President Rubem Novaes, also in mourning, expresses on behalf of all BB employees his deepest condolences and hopes that they find comfort in the fond memories and the great example that Waltinho leaves us."
