Metropolises - The Democratic Labor Party (PDT) left out transgender city councilwoman Duda Salabert (PDT-MG) from two campaigns about women's participation in politics. Videos released by the party of presidential candidate Ciro Gomes feature several female members, but omitted the most voted-for city councilwoman in Belo Horizonte's history.

The PDT's choice raised questions. In response to a comment made by transgender writer Lana de Holanda, Duda noted that "the two most-voted councilwomen in the last election in the country are transgender," referring to her campaign and that of Erika Hilton (PSol-SP).

Erika also criticized the exclusion: "I hope other parties with trans elected representatives, including mine, don't do this. And that they support us, while we have the most votes, in the 2022 elections." In another post, she said the two will make history again, whether they have the support of their parties or not.

Ciro Gomes shared one of the PDT's advertisements on social media this Sunday (6), but did not comment on Duda Salabert's absence. Along with the images, he said that this is "another national insertion of the PDT remembering the discrimination and violence that women suffer in Brazil."

The video released on Twitter features names such as Miguelina Vecchio, national vice-president of the PDT party; Juliana Brizola, congresswoman for Rio Grande do Sul; and Isabella de Roldão, vice-mayor of Recife.
