247 - After five years in prison in Curitiba, former Petrobras director Renato Duque will be released. The Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region (TRF-4) replaced his imprisonment with precautionary measures, such as the use of an electronic ankle monitor. The information was confirmed by the Court's press office.

The Federal Regional Court of the Fourth Region (TRF-4) overturned a decision by Federal Judge Luiz Antonio Bonat, who replaced Sergio Moro in the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba, the court responsible for Operation Car Wash. Duque was detained due to three pretrial detentions that were revoked in a habeas corpus petition filed by attorneys Tracy Reinaldet and Matteus Macedo.

Duque was the target of the longest-running operation in Curitiba. He is expected to be released from prison by tomorrow. The former Petrobras director has been detained since November at the Medical-Penal Complex in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. He was arrested for the second time in March 2015.

Duque was convicted in seven Lava Jato criminal cases. The former Petrobras director's sentences total 124 years.
