Bolsonaro's terrorist attacks on January 8th involved 'generals who betrayed Brazil,' says Dino.

"They keep saying they are patriots, but they are traitors. They sing the national anthem, they swore to defend the homeland, but they betrayed the Constitution," said the Minister of Justice.

247 - The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, said that the terrorist attacks of January 8, when Bolsonaro supporters and far-right militants invaded and vandalized the headquarters of the Three Powers in Brasília, involved the participation of "generals and officers who are traitors to Brazil."

“Nearly one hundred military personnel have already been questioned. The hierarchical level of these military personnel is rising. I'm talking about generals, officers, who have betrayed. They are traitors to Brazil. They keep saying they are patriots, but they are traitors. They sing the national anthem, they swore to defend the homeland, but they betrayed the Constitution,” Dino told ICL Notícias.

According to the minister, investigations indicate that three groups were involved in the attempted coup on January 8.

"There were three strands that led to January 8th. The economic core, which doesn't appear to involve major businesspeople. These are major businesspeople in regional contexts. The second core is political, and the most notable and identified is my predecessor [Anderson Torres]. And third, we had the military core," he stated.
