"We have a political force that is fighting against national interests," says Haddad.

The Finance Minister points out that the actions of Bolsonaro's supporters against national interests are Brazil's main vulnerability on the international stage.

247 - Finance Minister Fernando Haddad harshly criticized the opposition during an interview with CBN radio. According to the minister, the existence of an internal group acting against the country's interests represents Brazil's greatest weakness in the international arena. This statement comes amid escalating tensions between Brazil and the United States, following the Trump administration's announcement of 50% tariffs on Brazilian imports.

“What is unique to Brazil is having a political force working against the country. This is unique in the world. We have a political force within our country that is fighting against national interests. This is our main vulnerability. If we don't address this issue, it will be more difficult to negotiate. As long as they perceive that there is an internal force competing against Brazilian interests, they will continue to exploit this supposed lack of communication, which, on our part, has never existed,” Haddad stated.

The sanctions imposed by the United States are the result of maneuvers by Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), who is on leave from his position, to try to prevent the arrest of his father, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is about to be convicted of attempted coup d'état.
