Tebet speaks with Lula and tells allies that she will support the former president in the second round.

However, a meeting between Lula and Tebet is only expected to take place after the MDB officially releases its support for the senator.

247 - Senator Simone Tebet (MDB-MS), who came in third place in the first round of the presidential election, has signaled to allies that she is likely to support the candidacy of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). 

According to the newspaper The GlobeTebet and Lula spoke by phone in a call mediated by the Workers' Party leader's wife, sociologist Rosângela da Silva, known as "Janja". A meeting between them, however, is only expected to happen later. after the MDB officially released its support for Tebet.

Sources close to the PMDB politician said she had also received a call from former governor Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), the vice-presidential candidate on Lula's ticket, although this was not confirmed by the socialist's team. 

The report also highlights that despite the signals, sources close to the senator say she is resisting engaging in the Workers' Party candidate's campaign and is likely to offer critical support, without participating in events alongside the PT candidate. A person close to her stated that she will not be 'emphatic' in her support.

This Tuesday (4), the PDT approved the support. from the party to the candidacy of former president Lula (PT) in the second round against Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
