Tasso wants MBL to join forces with PSDB.
Interim president of the PSDB party, Tasso Jereissati (CE), said he is "open-armed" to receiving MBL activists among the party members; the younger wing of the party is increasingly linked to the movement; the MBL played a decisive role in the coup that ousted Dilma Rousseff in 2016 and has become known as a factory of attacks and defamation on the internet.
247 - The interim president of the PSDB, Senator Tasso Jereissati (CE), made a gesture to the MBL (Free Brazil Movement) this Wednesday (23), after demonstrations from sectors of the party opposed to the rapprochement of the liberal right-wing group with tucano parliamentarians, with an eye on 2018.
The senator sent an audio message to the movement's coordinators, stating that he is pleased with the group's rapprochement with the party. He affirms that he welcomes the MBL with "open arms." Tasso also says that the party is undergoing changes and encourages dialogue with the movement.
"Seeing this kind of openness shows a maturing of a sector within the PSDB," says MBL coordinator Renan Santos. "These new actors within the PSDB have something to say, because the political class in general is disconnected from the streets."
