Tarso Genro believes that, from a constitutional standpoint, Bolsonaro commits an impeachable offense every day, and therefore the legal conditions for impeachment are met. However, it is necessary to observe the opportunity this will have to pass through Parliament, he states.
According to the former minister, the PT (Workers' Party), left-wing parties, and democratic parties must assess the situation daily, using the impeachment mechanism only when they are certain they have a majority. Otherwise, they shouldn't use it, because a failed impeachment attempt could even strengthen Bolsonaro.
For the 2022 elections, Tarso advocates for a candidacy that unites the country's democratic opposition. In this sense, he believes that the PT (Workers' Party) should not present Lula's candidacy as something unavoidable.
