247 - The order to conduct a thorough investigation aimed at uncovering ongoing inquiries into the tax data of Jair Bolsonaro's family circle was given by the current Undersecretary of Corporate Management of the Federal Revenue Service, Juliano Neves. According to the Folha de S. PaulThe research conducted at Serpro went beyond "a mere defense of Flávio against the 'rachadinha' investigation being carried out by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio de Janeiro" and even involved Bolsonaro's two ex-wives.

A document from the Internal Revenue Service itself indicates that Neves requested a “special investigation into access to the tax data of nine people: in addition to Jair Bolsonaro, his three political sons, his two ex-wives and the first lady, Michelle, Fabrício Queiroz and Fernanda Bolsonaro, wife of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ)”. The investigation was carried out in 22 Internal Revenue Service data systems between January 2015 and September 2020.

The internal maneuvering began after Senator Flávio Bolsonaro's defense alleged that his tax data had been illegally accessed and passed on to COAF (Council for Financial Activities Control), which gave rise to the "rachadinha" scandal.

In a statement, the tax office did not explain why the investigations were expanded to include other people close to Bolsonaro, nor did it answer questions about whether Neves was acting on orders from superiors when requesting the data.
