Brazil's Supreme Court schedules trial for PMDF (Military Police of the Federal District) leadership for negligence on January 8th.
The case is being handled by Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
247 - The First Panel of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) will judge, between August 8th and 18th, the leadership of the Military Police of the Federal District (PM-DF), accused of omission during the coup attempts of January 8th. The trial will take place in a virtual plenary session, according to the schedule defined by Minister Cristiano Zanin, who presides over the Panel. The case is being handled by Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
According to the Attorney General's Office (PGR), the military officers are accused of negligence, along with other crimes, including the abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup d'état, and aggravated damage. The agency also requests the forfeiture of the positions held by the defendants.
The following individuals will be judged: Colonel Fábio Augusto Vieira, Colonel Klepter Rosa Gonçalves, Colonel Jorge Eduardo Naime Barreto, Colonel Paulo José Ferreira de Sousa Bezerra, Colonel Marcelo Casimiro Vasconcelos Rodrigues, Major Flávio Silveira de Alencar, and Lieutenant Rafael Pereira Martins.
