Supreme Court forms majority to convict General Braga Netto.

The former minister is accused of five crimes in the investigation into the coup plot.

247 - The Supreme Federal Court formed a majority this Thursday (11) for the conviction of former minister Braga Netto in the investigation of the coup plot. With the vote of minister Cármen Lúcia, there are now three votes to convict the military officer for all five crimes imputed to him - criminal organization, coup d'état, violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, qualified damage and deterioration of listed heritage.

Minister Luiz Fux had voted to convict Braga Netto only for the crime of attempting to violently abolish the Democratic Rule of Law.

In the Court, there are four votes to condemn Braga Netto for attempting to violently abolish the Democratic Rule of Law.

The Supreme Court also formed a majority to convict the other seven defendants. Jair Bolsonaro, the former head of the Institutional Security Office (GSI) Augustus Helenus, congressperson Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), the former commander Almir Garnier Santos, the former minister Paulo Sergio Nogueira, the lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid and the former minister Anderson Towers.
