Brazil's Supreme Court (STF) imposes a 24-year prison sentence against Anderson Torres.

The Court gave at least four votes in favor of the length of the punishment for the former minister.

247 - As the rapporteur for the investigation into the coup plot at the Supreme Federal Court, Minister Alexandre de Moraes voted for a 24-year prison sentence for former minister Anderson Torres in the investigation of the coup plot.

The judge was accompanied by ministers Flávio Dino, Cármen Lúcia, and Cristiano Zanin. 

The former minister was one of eight defendants convicted by the Supreme Court. The others were Jair Bolsonaro, the former head of the Institutional Security Office (GSI) Augustus Helenus, the deputy Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), the former minister Paulo Sergio Nogueira, the former commander Almir Garnier Santos, the lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid and the general Braga Netto.
