Senator Chico Rodrigues will preside over the commission that will monitor the Yanomami humanitarian crisis.

The committee will have Eliziane Gama (PSD-MA) as vice-president.

247 - The Temporary External Commission, established by the Senate this Wednesday (15) to monitor the humanitarian crisis in the Yanomami Indigenous Territory, will be chaired by Senator Chico Rodrigues (PSB-RR) and will have Eliziane Gama (PSD-MA) as vice-chair.

The committee will be composed of 5 senators: 

  • Three seats were filled by senators from Roraima: Mecias de Jesus (Republicanos), Dr. Hiran (PP), and Chico Rodrigues; 
  • Two names were put forward among the members of the Human Rights Commission: Humberto Costa (PT-PE) and Eliziane Gama.
