With no time for Jefferson, Barbosa gets into the samba spirit.
The President of the Supreme Federal Court ends the year without arresting the confessed defendant Roberto Jefferson, who managed R$ 4 million from the PTB's slush fund; the reason: "lack of time"; yesterday, however, he found time to dance samba in Rio de Janeiro, where he acted as a presidential candidate; in the photo, he appears alongside actress Taís Araújo, at the Clube Renascença, in Andaraí; it was one of the last working days of the year to order Jefferson's arrest, but he preferred to dance samba and shake hands.
247 - The president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Joaquim Barbosa, who imprisoned the Workers' Party members convicted in Criminal Action 470 during the November 15th holiday in a clear media stunt, but who, until the last day of the year, did not order the arrest of the confessed defendant Roberto Jefferson, responsible for managing R$ 4 million of the PTB's slush fund, due, according to him, to "lack of time," is in Rio de Janeiro, where he took advantage of Monday to enjoy samba at the Clube Renascença in Andaraí. Acting like a presidential candidate, he went to the event in informal attire, took photos, smiled at the public, was applauded, but also booed, and heard appeals for him to enter the electoral race.
A report by the newspaper O Globo, which has shown signs of supporting Barbosa's candidacy, covered the minister's visit to the party. According to the article, Barbosa didn't want to talk about politics and, when asked if he would dance samba, he was categorical: "I'm not going to samba." And he joked: "Have you ever seen someone from Minas Gerais dance samba?"
O Globo, in a text clearly favorable to the minister, reproduced a statement by José Barbosa, commander of the Navy, who spoke with the president of the Supreme Court: "I shook hands with the greatest man in Brazil, I won't even sleep tonight. I told him: run for President, don't give up. He nodded." Will he heed the request?
