Second owner of the Kiss nightclub turns himself in to police.

The fourth suspect in the Santa Maria fire case, businessman Mauro Hoffmann, who was considered a fugitive by the police, is believed to be missing due to health problems caused by smoke inhalation, according to his lawyer. This morning, the Civil Police had already arrested three people on a temporary basis – the owner Elissandro Spohr and two musicians from the band that was performing at the time of the accident.

Santa Maria's Diary - Businessman Mauro Hoffmann, one of the owners of the Kiss nightclub who had been missing since the early hours of Sunday morning, has just arrived at the Santa Maria police station to give a statement and provide clarifications to Detective Marcelo Arigony.

As of yesterday, the businessman had been under preventive detention ordered by the police to conduct investigations into the fire at the Kiss nightclub in Santa Maria.

Shortly after Hoffmann's arrival, criminal defense attorney Marios Cipriane arrived at the scene but declined to give an interview to the press. According to the lawyer, the businessman had disappeared because he was experiencing health problems due to inhaling toxic smoke.

On Monday morning, the Civil Police had already arrested three people, on a temporary basis, who are being investigated in connection with the Kiss nightclub fire.

Another owner of the establishment, businessman Elissandro Spohr, known as Kiko, is in police custody at a clinic in Cruz Alta. In addition to Spohr, a musician and a stagehand from the band Gurizada Fandangueira are also under arrest. The other arrests took place in Mata and São Pedro do Sul. The police have also executed search and seizure warrants.
