247 - Even though he faces threats from former president Lula (PT) – who is leading in the polls – Bolsonaro has plans in case he manages to be re-elected president of the Republic, reports Bela Megale, from the newspaper. The GlobeHe wants to elect as many senators as possible in order to secure future support from the House for attacks against the Supreme Federal Court (STF).
According to Bolsonaro's aides, he still dreams of removing Minister Alexandre de Moraes from the Supreme Court. Only the Senate can initiate impeachment proceedings against justices of the court.

In August 2021, Bolsonaro even presented a request to the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), to impeach Moraes. The request, however, was rejected.
At the time, Bolsonaro even promised to file a new request, this time against Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, but he did not follow through with the measure.
According to Bolsonaro's allies, the head of the federal government sees the Senate as the only way to "have some control" over the Supreme Court without breaking the Constitution.
