247 - Federal deputy André Janones (Avante-MG) used social media to claim he is receiving death threats from Bolsonaro supporters and far-right militants. In his posts, the parliamentarian states that false information has been spread on social media suggesting that he intends to kill by asphyxiation the terrorists arrested by the Federal Police last Sunday (8), after the terrorist acts in Brasília.
“My life is the only thing I have, and it’s at risk. Today and yesterday, they released fake screenshots saying that I’m going to suffocate the families of Bolsonaro supporters. I’m receiving this type of message every day. People full of hatred are swearing they’re going to assassinate me,” Janones wrote on Twitter.
“I am just one man! Did I manage to beat them like this during the campaign? Yes, but it was only for 3 months. Now, the challenge is greater! This group of terrorists doesn't know when to leave the streets. They are bewitched,” says the congressman in another post, referring to his activity on social media in defense of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's (PT) candidacy during the election campaign.
Janones also used the platform to affirm that, despite the threats, he does not intend to resign. “Finally, if the State cannot guarantee my life, I will still NOT RESIGN. I trust in God, and if I die, do not cry. For I will have died in the only way that would make my existence in this world worthwhile: fighting for the poor. And if you want to honor me, keep fighting!” he wrote.
