Sarney will undergo catheterization on Tuesday.

According to a medical bulletin from the hospital, Sarney underwent a heart Doppler ultrasound, which revealed an alteration in the contractility of the inferior wall. "As a result of this finding, the patient will undergo coronary catheterization next Tuesday and remains hospitalized at the Sírio-Libanês Hospital in São Paulo, with no discharge date yet scheduled," the medical bulletin states.

Brasilia – Senator José Sarney (PMDB-AP) will undergo a coronary catheterization on Tuesday (20) at the Sírio-Libanês Hospital in São Paulo, where he is hospitalized.

According to a medical bulletin from the hospital, Sarney underwent a heart echocardiogram, which showed an alteration in the contractility of the inferior wall. “As a result of this finding, the patient will undergo coronary catheterization next Tuesday and remains hospitalized at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo, with no discharge date scheduled,” says the medical bulletin, released on Friday night (16). 

The former president of the Republic, 83 years old, has been hospitalized since the end of July. His first hospitalization was at the UDI Hospital in Maranhão for treatment of a lung infection. Sarney was discharged on the 31st and went directly to São Paulo for further tests and was admitted to the Sírio-Libanês Hospital, where he remains hospitalized today, diagnosed with acute dengue fever and bacterial pneumonia.
