Parente's departure will only bring benefits, says Força Sindical.

The Força Sindical union said in a statement that "the departure of the president of Petrobras, Pedro Parente, will only bring benefits to Brazilian society"; according to the union's text, Parente "had been developing a policy in the company that harmed the working class" and that "the minister of the 'blackout,' as he became known in the FHC government, was clearly demonstrating his willingness to bow to speculators."

247 - The Força Sindical (a Brazilian labor union) stated in a press release that "the departure of Petrobras president Pedro Parente will only bring benefits to Brazilian society." According to the union's statement, Parente "had been developing a policy within the company that harmed the working class" and that "the minister of the 'blackout,' as he became known during the FHC (Fernando Henrique Cardoso) administration, was clearly bowing to speculators."

In the statement, signed by the President of Força Sindical, federal deputy Paulinho da Força, and by the general secretary of the union, João Carlos Gonçalves (Juruna), the expectation now is that "the new management of Petrobras will promote a policy focused on the interests of the country, given that the company is an important development hub for Brazil."
