By Rui Falcão - Messages of solidarity from PT supporters poured in from all over Brazil, condemning the double attack against the party headquarters and its employees that occurred last week.
In a statement, President Lula condemned the attacks: "Lately," he said, "Brazil has witnessed many scenes of intolerance and hatred. I felt immense sadness upon receiving the news of the attack on the Workers' Party headquarters in São Paulo. We cannot allow political differences to turn into violence."
And, addressing officials and activists, he concluded: "No bomb, crowbar, or aggression will take away our determination to fight for a more just Brazil for all."
CUT, MST, PCdoB, PSol, and PCO also released statements, with some of them sending representatives to the embrace of the DN headquarters organized by the Municipal and Regional Directorates of São Paulo.
In thanking our comrades for their solidarity, we reaffirm our decision to continue the fight in defense of democracy, against hatred, intolerance, and coups.
