247 - The governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado, announced this Tuesday (27) his departure from the União Brasil (UB) party. The decision was communicated during an interview given to a radio station in the interior of the state of São Paulo, in which the head of the Goiás Executive explained the political reasons that led him to leave the party.

According to Caiado, the main reason for the break was the formal alliance formed between União Brasil and the Progressive Party (PP), which resulted in the creation of the União Progressista party federation. This information was initially reported by g1. According to the governor, the PP, a party led by Senator Ciro Nogueira, had opposed his candidacy for President of the Republic, which led him to seek other political paths.

Contacted by g1, Ronaldo Caiado's press office was reached for official comment regarding his departure from União Brasil, but there was no response by the time of the last update to this report.
