Roberto Jefferson is cured. And now, Barbosa?

Doctors Carlos José Coelho de Andrade, Rafael Oliveira Albagli, and Cristiano Guedes Duque, from the National Cancer Institute, report that Roberto Jefferson, the author of the "mensalão" (monthly allowance) scandal accusation, does not need to remain under house arrest and can be moved to a semi-open prison regime; it will now be up to Joaquim Barbosa to decide the former congressman's future. Regarding the Workers' Party members José Dirceu, José Genoino, and Delúbio Soares, he was much more rigorous than with the PTB politician, who also confessed to receiving R$ 4 million in undeclared campaign contributions.

247 - The medical report, signed by three oncologists who examined former PTB congressman Roberto Jefferson, author of the so-called "mensalão" scandal and one of those convicted in Criminal Action 470, attests that he does not need to remain at home under house arrest. The document will be used by Minister Joaquim Barbosa to decide whether to accept the defense's request that Jefferson not be placed in the semi-open prison regime to which he was sentenced. This information comes from journalist Renata Lo Prete of Globo News. The report states that "no evidence" of pancreatic cancer, which Jefferson was treated for, was found.

"From an oncological standpoint, this panel does not consider it essential for Mr. Roberto Jefferson Monteiro Francisco's treatment that he remain at home or be hospitalized," state doctors Carlos José Coelho de Andrade, Rafael Oliveira Albagli, and Cristiano Guedes Duque, all from the National Cancer Institute. Roberto Jefferson was sentenced to seven years in prison for passive corruption and money laundering.

Barbosa already arrested José Genoino, José Dirceu, and Delúbio Soares on November 15th, but has not yet taken any action regarding Jefferson, who also claims to have received R$ 4 million in undeclared funds.
