Requião: Public Prosecutor's Office and Judiciary want privileges and are not concerned about the nation.

Former Senator Roberto Requião (MDB) used his Twitter account this Saturday (12) to denounce the privileges involving the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office and Judiciary; "The Public Prosecutor's Office and Judiciary want increased power, exceptional salaries and free interpretation, free from any responsibility to the law; no concern for the nation, for the civilizing process and our Sovereignty. Simple as that!", criticized Requião

Requião: Public Prosecutor's Office and Judiciary want privileges and are not concerned about the nation.

247 - Former senator Roberto Requião (MDB) used his Twitter account, this Saturday (12), to denounce the privileges involving the Brazilian Public Ministry and Judiciary.

"The Public Prosecutor's Office and the Judiciary want increased power, exceptional salaries, and free interpretation, free from any responsibility to the law. No concern for the nation, for the civilizing process, or for our sovereignty. It's that simple!", criticized Requião.

Requião's outburst echoes a series of events involving the two institutions. The Attorney General of the Republic, Raquel Dodge, said that President Jair Bolsonaro is inaugurating a mandate of change and renewing the hope of Brazilians. Dodge was criticized for her stance, since the Attorney General's Office should maintain an impartial posture.

Another factor is also causing unease among Brazilians. The so-called "cascade effect" of the salary increase for Supreme Court justices has already affected a third of Brazilian states in less than two months. In São Paulo, the additional annual impact will be R$ 155,8 million on the court's payroll, the largest in Brazil. Meanwhile, Jair Bolsonaro published a decree reducing the minimum wage from R$ 1.006,00 to R$ 998. This amount serves as a reference for approximately 48 million Brazilians, according to Dieese.
