Reuters - In a video released on social media shortly after embarking on a trip to China, President Michel Temer stated that he has "the necessary strength" to resist those who wish to hinder his work and "sow disorder in the institutions."
"We know there are people who want to stop Brazil, and that desire knows no bounds," the president said. "But I have the strength to resist," he added.
"We will not allow the negative agenda to dampen our spirits."
The Planalto Palace considers a new indictment against the president, to be presented by the Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot, before his departure from office on September 17th, to be certain. Temer will spend a week outside of Brazil, returning from China only on September 6th.
There are fears that the charges will be filed while the president is out of the country.
