Regina Duarte sings a song from the dictatorship era and downplays the crimes of the period: 'there was always death and torture'

In an interview with CNN, the Secretary of Culture, Regina Duarte, said that "there has always been torture" and "people never stop dying" when questioned about the military dictatorship.

247 - Brazil's Secretary of Culture and former Globo actress, Regina Duarte, downplayed the deaths and torture during the military dictatorship in an interview with CNN on Thursday, the 7th. She said that "[Jair] Bolsonaro is the best option for the country" and did not give importance to the president's support for the military regime.

Asked about the deaths and torture of that time, she replied that "there has always been torture" and "humanity never stops dying." She also sang a song from that era, expressing nostalgia for the military and praising the period. "Forward Brazil, hail the national team. How good that time was," she stated.

The secretary also spoke about her department's inaction in the wake of the deaths of Aldir Blanc, Moraes Moreira, and Flávio Migliaccio. Duarte said she didn't issue a statement to "avoid becoming an obituary."
