Who is Vanessa, the 'Black woman of Bolsonaro', identified by the Federal Police in an investigation report?
Influencer from Rio de Janeiro presents herself as "Bolsonaro's number one woman in Rio"
247 - Influencer Vanessa, publicly known by the nickname "Negona do Bolsonaro," was mentioned in a Federal Police (PF) report investigating an alleged attempt by former President Jair Bolsonaro to circumvent court orders. The information was revealed by the UOL portal, which highlighted the supporter's role in relaying content sent by the politician, who has been prohibited from maintaining a presence on social media, directly or indirectly, since July.
According to the investigation, Bolsonaro allegedly used profiles belonging to supporters to maintain his active digital communication. Among them was Vanessa, a prominent figure in Rio de Janeiro's Bolsonaro movement, who presents herself as "Bolsonaro's number one woman in Rio de Janeiro." The Federal Police state that the former president sent videos and messages via WhatsApp to a network of over 300 recipients considered influential, expecting them to repost the material on their platforms.
The supporter's journey
Vanessa, a native of Rio de Janeiro, established herself as a digital activist by closely following Bolsonaro's events and rallies, promoting content in defense of the former president. Today, she has around 136 followers on Instagram and just over 130 on X, which expands her ability to spread messages within the far-right political spectrum.
During the last election campaign, her candidacy faced a setback in the Regional Electoral Court (TRE), which prohibited the use of the nickname "Negona" (Big Black Woman). The decision classified the term as an expression of "racist and prejudiced content." Vanessa reacted strongly: "They want to say that I, a Black woman, am racist against myself for calling myself 'Negona'? This is a legal aberration! They are persecuting my candidacy."
The connection with Bolsonaro after the ban
Vanessa's direct connection to the investigation emerged on August 3rd, when she posted on X a video sent by Bolsonaro himself. In the recording, made at home, the former president appears sitting on a sofa, watching demonstrations by supporters. The caption read: “Imprisoned at home, but present in spirit throughout the country. Thank you all. It's for our freedom.” Vanessa's republication of the material strengthens the Federal Police's theory that the former president used allies to maintain his digital influence, even under judicial restriction.
From judicial veto to house arrest
Bolsonaro was banned from using social media starting July 21st. The ruling also prohibited the use of third parties as intermediaries. In early August, upon discovering violations, the courts ordered his house arrest. During this period, according to the Federal Police, the former president distributed hundreds of videos to trusted figures, including Vanessa, who acted as intermediaries to relay the content to an already mobilized audience.
