Quaest: 81% of Brazilians want the Federal Police to investigate Bolsonaro in the jewelry case.
“The case of the yo-yas is definitely an issue that is damaging Bolsonarism,” indicates Felipe Nunes, director of Quaest.
247 - Quaest director Felipe Nunes assesses this Sunday (30) research from the Institute that indicates the repercussion of the Saudi jewelry case directly involving Jair and Michelle Bolsonaro. According to the expert, the fact hit public opinion hard.
“The jewelry case became very well-known: 71% of those interviewed were aware of the case involving the Bolsonaro family. Even more interesting: the vast majority (81%) agree with the opening of an investigation into the case by the Federal Police. Among Bolsonaro voters, 72% agree with the investigation, meaning it poses a danger to the former president's base,” he adds.
“But is Bolsonaro guilty? Here again we see politicization taking over opinions. While 46% think Bolsonaro is guilty, 33% don't. In the election, Lula had 39% and Bolsonaro 38%. In other words, the case of the yoias is definitely an issue that is eroding Bolsonarism. While 61% of Bolsonaro's voters defend him, 74% of Lula's voters blame him. More importantly, Bolsonaro is considered guilty by almost half of those who didn't vote or voted blank/null – who tend to be more depoliticized,” Felipe points out.
