247 - A survey by Quaest, released this Wednesday (2), shows that 54% of federal deputies support the bill that proposes, instead of amnesty, the reduction of sentences for those convicted for the coup attacks of January 8, while 24% are against the measure.

When evaluating the opinion of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), the amnesty also weighs heavily in the minds of opposition parliamentarians.

Since taking office in February, 68% of deputies say they approve of the Speaker's performance. Support is even higher among government supporters, reaching 77%. Among opposition members, the approval rating is 47%, with some criticism focused on the decision not to schedule a vote on the amnesty bill for those involved in the coup attempts of January 8th.

Conducted between May 7 and June 30, the Quaest survey, commissioned by Genial Investimentos, polled 203 federal deputies—representing 40% of the Chamber. The margin of error is 4,5 percentage points, plus or minus.
