The Workers' Party (PT) wants to accelerate actions in the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) that could make Bolsonaro ineligible.
Terrorist acts in Brasília weakened Bolsonaro and paved the way for the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to remove him from the next elections. Members of the PL (Liberal Party) share the same assessment.
247 - With the country still recovering from the terrorist acts carried out by Bolsonaro supporters on the 8th in Brasília, in a veritable coup attempt, the PT wants to accelerate the judgment in the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) of actions that could make Jair Bolsonaro (PL) ineligible for the next eight years.
The objective, according to Malu Gaspar, from the newspaper The GlobeThe expectation is that the decision will be made in the first half of 2023. "The assessment among Lula's allies is that recent events have weakened Bolsonaro, diminished his political capital, and paved the way for him to be declared ineligible by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court). Therefore, the best course of action is to convict him as soon as possible."
Although they won't admit it publicly, members of the PL party share the same assessment, acknowledging the delicate situation of the former occupant of the Palácio do Planalto (Presidential Palace).
Throughout 2023, the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) will undergo changes in its composition, which worries the PT (Workers' Party).
The cases against Bolsonaro, currently under the purview of the Electoral Court's Inspector General, Minister Benedito Gonçalves, considered a "hardliner" by Bolsonaro supporters, will be transferred to Raul Araújo. "The fear within the PT (Workers' Party) is whether Raul Araújo will have the same commitment as Benedito Gonçalves when he inherits his colleague's cases."
