247 - Congressman Marcelo Ramos, 1st vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies, who decided to leave the PL party after Jair Bolsonaro announced his affiliation with the party, and announced this week his affiliation with the PSD, stated that the party will maintain its project of having its own candidate for the presidential election as a measure to reaffirm its independence, although it has considerably re-established ties with former president Lula.

In an interview with Power360Ramos said that in a possible second round between Lula and Bolsonaro, the party will be with the Workers' Party candidate.

"I have no doubt, and if I did, I wouldn't have joined the party, that in a second round like this, the PSD is much closer to what Lula represents than what Bolsonaro represents for the future of Brazil," he said.

Ramos's affiliation ceremony with the PSD is scheduled for next Wednesday, the 9th, in Brasília.
