Lava Jato prosecutor refutes Augusto Aras's claims and says that 'what was lacking was transparency on Bolsonaro's part' in the selection of the Attorney General.

"The transparent selection process from a shortlist of three candidates, voted on, preceded by the presentation of proposals and debates by the candidates, which was set aside, is sorely missed," the prosecutor wrote on his Twitter profile.

The former Minister of Justice under Jair Bolsonaro and former judge in the Lava Jato operation. Sergio Moro also used his social media on Wednesday to defend the operation. which launched him to stardom. 

"I am unaware of any illicit secrets within the scope of Lava Jato. On the contrary, the Operation has always been transparent and its decisions have been confirmed by second-instance courts and also by higher courts, such as the STJ and STF," Moro stated.
