Bottini left the Vilella case, whom he was defending, to work with businessman Joesley Batista, of JBS, who denounced the prosecutor. According to him, the reason was a conflict with another client.
Vilella accuses Bottini of using information confided to him in his capacity as his lawyer to benefit Joesley, whose case he took over days later. He is considering filing the same complaint against the lawyer with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
