Ao G1, Emanuel Pinheiro's lawyer, Francisco Anis Faiad, stated: “This is an investigation where there wasn't even prior notification; he was never heard regarding this situation. He was caught by surprise. The mayor of the capital was removed from office for 180 days unexpectedly. Judicial processes no longer allow for surprises,” he said.
