Federal Police punish agent who used Dilma as a 'target'
Agent Danilo Mascarenhas Balas was suspended for four days for using a caricature of President Dilma Rousseff as a target for firearms training and then posting the image of the president riddled with bullets on social media.
247 - The Federal Police will punish agent Danilo Mascarenhas Balas with a four-day suspension for using a caricature of President Dilma Rousseff as a target for firearms training and then posting the image of the president riddled with bullets on social media.
The agent had escaped punishment last week. An internal document from the Federal Police stated that the disciplinary administrative process had been suspended due to the statute of limitations, which would prevent his punishment. However, an article published by the newspaper O Globo shows that the posting of the photo on social media dates back to last year, falling within the two-year statute of limitations for punishment.
Shortly afterward, the corporation reported that there had been an error and that the agent would be punished. In the post, titled "This makes training easy," he appears wearing a Federal Police shirt next to a caricature of Dilma riddled with bullets.
"Applies the disciplinary penalty of four days' suspension to the officer Danilo Mascarenhas Balas, (...) due to it being proven that he published on his personal social media page a photograph in which he appears wearing a t-shirt with the symbol of the Federal Police next to a target for shooting practice with a caricature of the President of the Republic, a fact that generated negative exposure of the name of the Federal Police," says the text of the punishment of the agent signed by the superintendent of the Federal Police in São Paulo, Roberto Troncon, and by the director-general of the PF, Leandro Daiello Coimbra.
