PML: Pope blesses Lula and puts fact-checking agencies in their place.

TV 247 – The Boa Noite 247 program this Friday (2) addressed the blessing that Lula received from the Pope, the developments of the PT-PSB alliance that eliminated Marília Arraes' candidacy, in addition to Aécio Neves' withdrawal from the Senate race.

Former Foreign Minister Celso Amorim visited Pope Francis, who wrote a handwritten letter blessing former President Lula.

Journalist Paulo Moreira Leite considers the visit very important. "He is the first head of state to express solidarity with Lula; Pope Francis has a courageous stance, and this fact reinforces Lula's importance in the world," he emphasizes.

He goes on to explain that the Pope's blessing puts fact-checking agencies in their proper place. "Under the pretext of combating fake news, a regime of prior censorship was established, precisely to undermine freedom of expression," points out Moreira Leite.

This Thursday (3), the PT state directorate of Pernambuco confirmed Marília Arraes' candidacy for governor of the State, contradicting the decision of the National Executive to eliminate her candidacy in order to support Paulo Câmara (PSB).

According to journalist Alex Solnik, priorities are essential. "What is more important? Electing Lula in the first round or winning the governorship of Pernambuco but losing the presidency of the Republic?", he asks.

The Neves Family: Decline

Senator Aécio Neves has withdrawn his candidacy, stating that he will run for Federal Deputy instead.

"Aécio is a burnt-out match, he'll sink even further," Solnik assesses.
