Andreia Verdélio, Agência Brasil - The Military Police Inspectorate of Espírito Santo opened, today (28), an administrative procedure to investigate the circumstances in which the 16-year-old teenager had access to his father's weapons to carry out the attack on two schools in the district of Coqueiral, in Aracruz, on the morning of Friday (25). He is the son of a military police officer and used two weapons under his father's responsibility, a .38 caliber revolver owned privately, and a .40 caliber pistol belonging to the Military Police.

The Civil Police are also investigating the parents' conduct or omission regarding the shooter's actions. They will be questioned today. The teenager was apprehended and informed the police that whenever he had the opportunity to be alone at home, he handled his father's weapons.

In a press conference this Monday morning, police authorities reported that the weapons were hidden in the teenager's parents' bedroom, one of them locked. After the attacks, the young man returned home, put the weapons back in the same place, and pretended nothing had happened until the police arrived.

The attacks occurred at the Primo Bitti State School and the Praia de Coqueiral Educational Center, a private school. According to the police, the shooter chose the locations because of their proximity to his home.
