Brazilian Federal Police are investigating whether Mauro Cid, arrested this Wednesday, orchestrated an escape plan for Bolsonaro.

'One of the specialties of Special Forces soldiers, trained by CID, is precisely the creation of what is called RAFE: Escape and Evasion Network,' says journalist Valdo Cruz.

247 - Federal police investigators are looking into whether the Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, former aide-de-camp to Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who was arrested in Operation Verine.The operation, launched by the Federal Police on Wednesday morning (3), allegedly set up an escape plan so that the former president could leave Brazil. According to journalist Valdo Cruz, from G1, the agents “believe that the false entries in December and the attempt to retrieve R$ 16 million in jewelry from the Federal Revenue Service vault are not isolated events”.

Mauro Cid graduated from the Agulhas Negras Military Academy (Aman) in 2000. He was also an instructor at the Academy and ranked among the top students in the Army Command and Staff School and the Officer Improvement School, in addition to being fluent in several languages. At the time of his arrest, the Agents seized US$35 and R$16 in cash. inside the military residence. 

"Moreover, one of the specialties of Special Forces soldiers, Cid's training, is precisely the creation of what is called in the barracks RAFE: Escape and Evasion Network. With the fraud on the vaccination card, Bolsonaro would have free rein to go wherever he wanted. 'The jewels would guarantee his survival,' concludes a police officer involved in the investigation," the report highlights.

Operation Venire carried out 16 search and seizure warrants - including Jair Bolsonaro's residence in Brasília - and six arrest warrants on Wednesday morning (3). Among those arrested are Bolsonaro's former aide-de-camp, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, military police officer Max Guilherme and Army soldier Sérgio Cordeiro, security guards who worked during Bolsonaro's term and who also accompanied him to the United States, when he left the country two days before the end of his term.
