Aécio Amado, reporter for Agência Brasil - The Federal Police (PF) launched Operation Adinamia today (8), to dismantle a criminal organization specialized in defrauding public competitions and selection processes for entry into higher education, through the National High School Examination (Enem) 2016/2017, in Ceará and other states of the Federation.
"The methods of fraud consisted of the premature breaking of seals to access the ENEM (National High School Exam) and other entrance exams and/or the use of a 'pilot candidate' and electronic devices to transmit the answer keys. The medical course is the main target of the fraud and also the most expensive, costing around R$ 90 per place, with half of the amount paid before the exam and half after the place is secured," says the Federal Police in a statement.
Approximately 90 federal police officers are executing 36 warrants, including 21 search and seizure warrants, four preventive arrest warrants, and 11 warrants for coercive questioning, in the cities of Fortaleza, Juazeiro, Barbalha, Mauriti, Abaiara, and Lavras da Mangabeira, in Ceará; São José de Piranhas and Cajazeiras, in Paraíba; and in Teresina, in Piauí.
According to the Federal Police, the operation's name, Adinamia, is a reference to "the moral weakness of those who fraudulently attempt to circumvent competition in public service exams and selection processes for admission to higher education courses through the ENEM (National High School Exam)."
