Petrobras wins the Global Offshore Industry's Distinguished Achievement Award.
The company's president, Jean Paul Prates, celebrated and took the opportunity to refute an article in Folha de S. Paulo about an alleged new company office in Natal (RN).
247 - Petrobras has received the Global Offshore Industry's Distinguished Achievement Award for the 5th time, "awarded for the implementation of a broad set of new technologies for the successful revitalization of the Marlim Field and the entire Campos Basin in deep waters, unlocking new avenues for the development of mature deepwater assets, with a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions," according to the company's website. OTC (Offshore Technology Conference), responsible for the award.
The company's president, Jean Paul Prates, celebrated on X, formerly Twitter, this Thursday (25): "We have just announced that #APetrobrasVoltou has received the most important award in the world oil, gas and energy industry. In the last year, we have announced ten historical records in operation and management. These are historic results, representative of a company that fulfills its vocation of harnessing Brazil's energy and delivering economic value aligned with environmental sustainability and respect for people to its shareholders, the main one being Brazilian society. Many people are unaware of our work, our headquarters and projects carried out from north to south of the country, by workers from all regions of Brazil. It is an effort of the new administration to remind people that there are opportunities to build a better life through serious projects in Vitória, Macapá, Fortaleza, Três Lagoas or Natal, among so many other corners of our country. We will continue working with the challenge of achieving greater and better records, wherever there is an opportunity to give back to Brazil the energy we receive every day."
Prates also took the opportunity to refute a report in Folha de S. Paulo that mentioned a supposed new Petrobras office in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte: "Contrary to what is stated in the article 'Petrobras President announces state-owned company office in his political stronghold', published in the Painel SA column of Folha de S. Paulo this Wednesday (January 24th), the company clarifies that this is not a new office. Petrobras has been in Rio Grande do Norte for over 40 years. More than a thousand workers are employed in the state's headquarters building (EDIRN), linked to the E&P segment and other areas of the company's operations. Recently, a Petrobras University campus was announced for the location. Last year, Petrobras had already announced that the building would house the company's activities focused on offshore wind energy projects. The strong presence of this activity onshore in the state is well-known, where several projects and research centers focused on wind energy already operate. The initiative is fully aligned with the company's Strategic Plan, which foresees investments in..." Renewable energies, including onshore and offshore wind power.
