247 - Ester Hoffmann, leader of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST), believes that the march to Brasília (DF) will promote an unprecedented feat in the country's history: it will be the first time that a candidacy is registered in a popular way and with mobilization. This Wednesday (15), former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will have his candidacy for the Presidency registered at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). "The people registering their candidate, that is very significant. All the polls show that, even imprisoned, the majority want him to return as president of Brazil," Ester told Rede Brasil Atual.

Antônia Ivoneide, also from the MST leadership, states that "the National Lula Livre March is a way to demonstrate that the people have their strength, their organization, and their project." "And this project sees in Lula the real possibility of reversing the evils that the 2016 coup brought to the poor: hunger, unemployment, attacks on health and education, increased violence, and the surrender of national wealth," she adds.
