Bricklayer challenges Rodrigo Maia: work 30 days on a construction site and I'll work until I'm 80.
In an interview with Globonews, the Speaker of the House promised commitment to the approval of the pension reform and said that "everyone can work until they are 80 years old"; a construction worker posted a video on social media challenging the congressman, "inviting" Maia to work alongside him for a month; watch it.
Current Brazil Network - After the Speaker of the House, Representative Rodrigo Maia (DEM-RJ), promised his commitment to the approval of the pension reform and said that "everyone can work until they are 80 years old," a construction worker posted a video on social media challenging the congressman, "inviting" Maia to work alongside him for a month.
"If you spend 30 days working here, I'll give up my retirement. He said a man can work until he's 80, so come spend 30 days with me, eating packed lunches and mixing concrete. If you can do it, I'll work until I die without retiring," he says in the video, while mixing the cement, sand, and stone mixture.
The bricklayer is protesting against the proposed pension reform that requires 40 years of contributions for a worker to be able to retire with 100% of the average salary from that entire period.
Maia stated this Wednesday (20) that the processing of the Social Security reform will begin next Tuesday (26), when the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) of the House will be installed.
