PDT requests Bolsonaro's disqualification for using the September 7th holiday for electoral purposes.
PDT alleges that Bolsonaro committed abuse of political and economic power and that "the event was distorted solely to satisfy the interests of the election campaign."
247 - The PDT filed a request for an electoral judicial investigation (AIJE) with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to investigate the conduct of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and his vice-presidential candidate, Walter Braga Netto (PL), during the demonstrations on September 7th. In the action, the party asks that Bolsonaro be declared ineligible for eight years.
According to the newspaper The GlobeThe PDT alleges that Bolsonaro committed abuse of political and economic power and that "the event was distorted solely to satisfy the electoral campaign interests of those under investigation, without even returning to the purposes for which it was intended."
"In addition to using the event's infrastructure (stage, broadcast on TV Brasil), which was paid for with public funds, the first person under investigation greeted people, posed for photos with allies, and, in a speech delivered from atop a sound truck, urged supporters to vote for him in the first round and convince those who think 'differently from us'," says another excerpt from the lawsuit.
The rapporteur for the case is TSE minister Benedito Gonçalves, who took office this Thursday (8) as general inspector of Justice.
