PCdoB rejects PSOL's procedural maneuver.
This Friday (February 1st), before the election for President of the Chamber of Deputies, PSOL questioned the process of incorporating parties; the Point of Order raised by Deputy Ivan Valente (SP), leader of that party, requested the reversal of the Chamber President's decision to recognize as participants in parliamentary blocs the parties that have already incorporated but have not yet finalized the procedures at the TSE (Superior Electoral Court).
247, with PCdoB.org - This Friday (February 1st), before the election for President of the Chamber of Deputies, PSOL surprised everyone by questioning the process of incorporating parties. The Point of Order raised by Deputy Ivan Valente (SP), leader of that bloc, requested the reversal of the Chamber President's decision to recognize as participants in parliamentary blocs the parties that have already merged but have not yet finalized the procedures at the TSE (Superior Electoral Court). This is the case of PPL, incorporated by PCdoB, PRP by Patriota, and PHS by Podemos.
In a statement, the PCdoB caucus lamented the procedural maneuver. "We expected this attack from the right, from those who do not accept our history and ideology, from those who want to annihilate us, criminalize us, and impede our struggle. Never from those we defended in the streets and with whom yesterday, today, and tomorrow we stand and will stand together against the far-right government of Bolsonaro and all those who try to harm the freedom, democracy, and rights of our people!" the document states.

PCdoB demands respect.
The parliamentary blocs formed in the Chamber during the election of the leadership last for one day and are independent of the election of the House Presidency, serving only to provide political spaces for the blocs on the board of directors and thematic committees. These instruments serve internal organization, but also serve the struggle of the people who need to prevent reforms against their rights and to approve projects of their interest.
Smaller political groups are seeking to expand their power and political relationships. In this context, the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) encountered an additional difficulty: a possible restriction on its freedom of action and parliamentary functioning, due to its failure to meet the electoral threshold in confronting the fascist wave during the electoral process.
To overcome this obstacle, we opted and decided, in a party forum, to incorporate another political group, the Partido Pátria Livre (PPL), which has a history of struggle and which, in a generous and committed way to freedom, decided in its Congress for this incorporation.
Unfortunately, due to a specific and opportunistic view, based purely on mathematical calculations of the size of the party blocs in the House, PSOL, supported by PT and PSB, our allies for 30 years, attempted through a procedural maneuver to undermine our freedom of organization and question our decision to incorporate PPL, which has already been recognized by the Chamber of Deputies.
We express our indignant surprise! We expected this attack from the right wing, from those who do not accept our history and ideology, from those who want to annihilate us, criminalize us, and prevent our struggle. Never from those whom we defended in the streets and with whom yesterday, today, and tomorrow we stand and will stand together against the far-right government of Bolsonaro and all those who try to harm the freedom, democracy, and rights of our people!
