PCB, led by Sofia Manzano, announces support for Lula in the second round.
The communist candidate received just over 45 votes in the first round.
Capital Letter - The Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) announced, on Sunday night, October 2nd, its support for former president Lula (PT) in the second round against Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The party nominated Sofia Manzano as its presidential candidate in the first round. She received 45.615 votes, a total of 0,04% of the valid votes.
According to a statement published on the party's website, support for Lula is necessary because Bolsonaro's government 'flirts with fascism'. The text says that Lula does not represent the PCB's program, but at least it is not a reactionary project.
