Paulo Pimenta: "Just because Lula won doesn't mean people are immune from punishment."

"Many people will have to answer criminally for what they did during the campaign," says the PT congressman from Rio Grande do Sul.

247 - Congressman Paulo Pimenta (PT-RS) stated, in an interview with TV 247, that "many people will have to answer criminally for what they did during the election campaign." "Just because Lula won doesn't mean people are immune and don't have to answer for the crimes they committed," he commented.

He pointed out that the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and the Supreme Federal Court (STF) “have acted with great speed and agility,” but “let's remember that those who should be taking initiatives are the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office in defense of the Constitution and the law.”

"So far, [Attorney General Augusto] Aras has been completely silent. We have a Federal Police and a Federal Highway Police unit that have been captured. A significant part of the state structure that should act to curb crime has been compromised in some way," he criticized.

"That investigation into the anti-democratic acts is still alive and well. That radio scumbag, Alexandre de Moraes, has included the investigation into who's behind it. That investigation will certainly be concluded soon. The accounts financing the acts have been traced, and all of this will come to light," he claimed.

Lula Government

Regarding Lula's government, Pimenta said, "Now, we need the peace of mind to govern, make the transition, prepare the budget. To reposition Brazil within the international context." "We will have to readjust the budget so that it is in line with the proposal that won the election," he continued.
