Political parties file lawsuit to ban Bolsonaro's outings and statements amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The PSOL, PT, PSB, PCdoB, Rede Sustentabilidade, and Unidade Popular (UP) parties have filed a public civil action seeking to prevent Jair Bolsonaro from traveling around the country, in violation of recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health itself.
Plinio Teodoro, Forum Magazine - PSOL, PT, PSB, PCdoB, Rede Sustentabilidade and Unidade Popular (UP) filed a public civil action this Tuesday (31) to try to prevent Jair Bolsonaro from traveling around the country, promoting disobedience to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health. The document also has the support of Consulta Popular and the Communist Refoundation Party of the DF.
The parties are asking Bolsonaro to "immediately refrain from any acts and pronouncements that contradict the recommendations and guidelines of the WHO and the Ministry of Health, which tend to hinder the social isolation and quarantine required for the effective fight against the Covid-19 coronavirus."
The action was motivated by Bolsonaro's visits to commercial areas in Ceilândia and Taguatinga last Sunday (29), as well as by the President of the Republic's recent statements encouraging the end of the quarantine and defending partial isolation.
